Yemi Cardoso, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), recently stated in a statement that cryptocurrency regulation is not the responsibility of the central bank. He expressed this view at a media event, noting that the role has been assigned to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Nigeria.
But Cardoso also added that the central bank will work with law enforcement agencies and regulators responsible for regulating the Nigerian crypto industry.
