Bitcoin Price Surges Above $69,000, Moving Towards

Bitcoin price surged above $69,000, pushing $70,000 a few hours ago, amid increased activity from major BTC investors.

According to on-chain data, the first 'whale' movement was observed by sources such as Lookonchain and Whale Alert. These sources reported that a Bitcoin investor who accumulated approximately 4,300 BTC 10 years ago at an average price of less than $30 decided to move a small portion.

This was the anonymous whale's first Bitcoin transfer in over a decade (at least for this wallet). They moved 246 BTC, worth approximately $17 million at yesterday's prices.

With an average purchase price of $29.39 in 2013, this whale's ROI since then has been an incredible 230,000 percent.

Lookonchain also noted another whale purchase. This happened a few hours ago and was worth almost 114 BTC ($7.85 million). This investor has been on a buying spree over the past month, purchasing 1,308 BTC since March 6.

His latest purchase came during BTC's price surge early Sunday. As reported yesterday, the asset had calmed down around $67,000 but continued to slowly rise throughout the day. The biggest gains came earlier today when Bitcoin pumped to a 5-day high of $69,800.

However, the cryptocurrency has failed to surpass the desired level of $70,000, at least for now, but it still stands above $69,000.
