According to CoinDesk, Osprey Bitcoin Trust, a closed-end bitcoin fund trading at a discount to its BTC holdings, is exploring strategic alternatives, including selling itself or merging with a bitcoin ETF. The company stated on Tuesday that if these efforts are unsuccessful, it plans to liquidate and dissolve the Trust within 180 days. Osprey Bitcoin Trust gained prominence as a strong competitor to Grayscale's larger GBTC fund, which converted into an ETF this year. Osprey even filed a lawsuit against Grayscale, alleging deceptive claims about the ETF conversion being a foregone conclusion. Osprey has not yet responded to requests for comment.
